What Carries Over When a Denshin Season Changes

Understand Denshin's 10% season starting credit, lifetime points, rank and Daily Check streak, and why a new season still has its own quest progress.

Returning to the city can leave you looking at two very different numbers. Your profile remembers points from earlier seasons, while the current leaderboard shows a much smaller total. Both can be right. They describe different parts of your time in Denshin.

The useful distinction is between a starting credit and a lasting record. At a season change, 10% of the previous season's total becomes a starting credit for the next one. Your lifetime points stay whole. Understanding that split makes the new board easier to read and stops an old completion badge from being mistaken for progress on a new task.

Two totals with different jobs#

Season points measure your standing in the current run. The leaderboard uses that total to compare players within the same season. Quest credits, the profile multiplier, Daily Check and eligible referral points contribute to that standing, alongside the carry-over from the previous run.

Lifetime points describe your longer history. That number is the basis of your rank, so it answers a different question from your place on the board. A player can have an established lifetime record while being near the beginning of a particular season.

When comparing numbers, check the label first. Comparing a lifetime total with another player's season total combines two different measures. Even on the same profile, there is no reason for those two totals to match.

Ten percent is the next starting credit#

The current season rules describe a carry-over of 10% from the previous season's total. This is a point credit on the next season's leaderboard. It is separate from the record kept by your lifetime total.

Take a simple arithmetic example: a season total of 1,000 points corresponds to 100 points of starting credit in the next season. Those numbers illustrate the rule; they are not a report of a player's result. The original work remains part of the player's lifetime history.

That example also shows why a smaller new-season number does not mean your older history has disappeared. The new board measures a new run with a limited carry-over. Your profile continues to record the work that got you there.

Read the current board as its own competition. A starting credit is not a fixed finishing place, and a place can change as players complete the season's tasks.

Your rank follows the longer record#

Rank is measured using lifetime points. A season ending cannot lower it, because changing the season does not remove that lifetime total.

There is an important separation between a rank and a leaderboard position. One recognises your accumulated record; the other describes your standing in a particular run. Reading them separately makes it possible to keep a lasting identity in the city while each season has a meaningful board of its own.

Rank does not add another points multiplier or increase what a leaderboard place is worth. Our rank reference explains the ladder and what each step represents. Look there for the thresholds rather than trying to infer your rank from a percentage of the current season's quests.

Your profile and daily habit continue#

Your reputation score stays with your profile across a season change. It is the score used for the quest multiplier, rather than a bundle of points added to the leaderboard. A season transition does not require rebuilding that profile from scratch.

Your Daily Check streak also continues across the boundary. An unbroken streak can pass from one season into another. Keeping it depends on continuing the daily check: a missed day still resets the streak, and the day boundary is UTC midnight.

The season boundary and the daily boundary therefore deserve separate attention. A new season can change the board while today's check still needs doing. Our guide to the on-chain Daily Check streak walks through that routine. Check the current day in the sync window instead of assuming that a season change counted a day for you.

The new quests have their own progress#

Momentum tasks have their own completion state. A completed Genesis task does not automatically complete its Momentum counterpart, even when the activity looks familiar.

The evidence a task checks still matters. A holding check can read a qualifying balance you already have. A swap task asks for a fresh qualifying action after you press Start. An old swap and a current balance are different kinds of evidence, so there is no single shortcut that turns a whole earlier quest list into current progress.

Open the current card before acting. Read its network, venue and minimum, then follow its order of operations. The point credit carried from the previous season does not tick those tasks for you.

This is also why returning players should avoid treating an old guide as a current checklist. Familiar routes can have new task names or requirements. The live card is the place to confirm what your next action needs to prove.

A calm way to read your return#

Start with the season named on the leaderboard, then compare its total with the lifetime total on your profile. Read your rank against lifetime points. Check today's Daily Check separately, and open the new quest card before making a transaction.

If a figure surprises you, look at your points history before repeating an action. The useful question is which total a credit belongs to and which season the board is showing. Keep a note of the task and what you expected if you need help from our team.

Then return to the city one task at a time. The carry-over gives the new board its starting credit. Your lifetime record keeps the history behind it.
